Alan Wake Remastered Officially Announced for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC
Alan Wake Remastered has been announced for a fall release on Playstation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
A few days ago, Rakuten Taiwan store listings were discovered for Alan Wake Remastered. Those listings were removed shortly after Wario64 brought attention to them on Twitter, but not before industry insider, Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX), corroborated that they were indeed legitimate.
Sam Lake, writer and creative director at Remedy Entertainment, has now officially announced Alan Wake Remastered in an open letter on a community-run website. “The remaster is coming because of your support for Alan Wake through the years. That is why we felt it was fitting to make this announcement here, at The Sudden Stop, which has been an integral part of the Remedy community since back in 2012, when it started out as an Alan Wake fansite.”

What is Alan Wake?
Alan Wake is an action-adventure game that is split up into an episodic format. It follows the titular character, Alan Wake, a best-selling thriller novelist who is trying to uncover the mystery surrounding his wife’s disappearance. All the while experiencing events from the plot of his latest novel that he doesn’t remember writing.
Alan Wake launched to critical acclaim 11 years ago as an Xbox 360 exclusive published by Microsoft. Shortly after release, it received two story DLCs, The Signal and The Writer, both will be included in Alan Wake Remastered. A couple of years after release, Alan Wake received a PC version as well. This will be the first time it makes an appearance on Playstation platforms.
However, this isn’t the first time the character has shown up on Playstation. Remedy’s Control received an Alan Wake-themed expansion last year which we reviewed.
Alan Wake Remastered is officially coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Epic Games Store in Fall 2021. October 5th if the leaked listings are accurate.
