Alien: Isolation Promises to Deliver an Experience Where Players Will Never Feel Safe

A new developer diary for the upcoming Alien: Isolation goes into detail about why the alien in this game will be one of the scariest video game monsters we’ve seen in a while.

Past Alien games have been inspired by James Cameron’s Aliens where you play as a space marine who must kill as many creatures as possible. Isolation takes a step back (in a good way) and is instead taking its cues from the original Ridley Scott Alien film. This game will be about you being hunted by a single creature and doing your best to avoid it.

The alien in this game will not have any pre-programmed behavior. It will react dynamically to what the player does. This will make encounters more intense since you’ll be careful of doing anything that might get the alien’s attention. This is a smart creature that will do its best to kill you and not to be killed by you.

Alien: Isolation will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One later this year.
