Last night some tech savvy Street Fighter X Tekken fans made a shocking discovery. Capcom announced a while back that the PlayStation Vita version of the game would include twelve characters that, at the time, had not been confirmed for HD console versions of the game. We now know that all of these characters are in fact on the game's retail disc, but this doesn't mean we'll be able to use them from launch.

Capcom has released a statement explaining that the additional characters are indeed on the disc and will later be unlocked for use via paid DLC. This allows players who haven't purchased the characters to fight against them online and it will prevent a new disc being released for a "Super" version of the game since all characters are already on board. The characters will go on sale some time after the release of the PlayStation Vita version.

I think most of us already knew this would happen even though Ono dodged the queries, so this is hardly surprising. Street Fighter X Tekken will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow.
