Amazon shook things up earlier this week with the reveal of its Fire TV console capable of playing Android-based games and streaming them to users’ TVs, and now reports have shown some of the talent the company is bringing in to work on the device’s upcoming games.
Reports have confirmed that Amazon has hired several new designers and developers to work on upcoming games for the Fire TV, most notably including Kim Swift (designer, Portal), and Clint Hocking (creative director, Far Cry 2) that have been confirmed to be working on several secret/unannounced projects for Amazon’s new device.
Both Swift and Hocking have been confirmed to be brought on as senior designers at Amazon Game Studios, with Hocking having worked at the company since February on several unannounced projects. Swift is previously known for her work on Portal and Quantum Conundrum, while Hocking has previously worked on Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and Far Cry 2.
Stay tuned for more information on Amazon’s Fire TV and the upcoming games and projects for it.
