2016 has seen a number of great games that topped the charts throughout the year, but as far as the holiday season goes several titles, such as the ever-popular Pokemon and the long-awaited Final Fantasy XV, came out on top for the holiday season according to buyers on Amazon.

In a press release, Amazon revealed some stats and figures from its best-selling items during the holiday season, with the online retailer specifically citing Pokemon Sun & Moon and Final Fantasy XV (PS4) as its best-selling games for the end of the year (presumably being November/December).

No specific sales or numbers were provided by the retailer at this time, along with other titles beyond those, but nevertheless they're encouraging stats for two of the most highly-anticipated games from the holiday season, edging out competition from the likes of other big titles like Battlefield 1Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and others.

Interestingly, Amazon also provided one other tidbit on Pokemon Sun & Moon and explained that "if each Amazon.com customer who purchased Pokémon Sun and Moon this holiday spent at least an hour a day playing the game since its release, our customers would have spent the equivalent of more than 24 thousand lunar cycles capturing Pokémon."

Pokemon Sun & Moon are available now for 3DS, while Final Fantasy XV is available now for PS4 and Xbox One.
