The U.S. Army announced that the open beta for its massively popular FPS America’s Army: Proving Grounds has launched today on PlayStation 4. The game is currently available as a free-to-play title and can be downloaded directly from the PlayStation Store. In addition to the open beta announcement for PS4, a new trailer has also been released and can be seen below.

America’s Army: Proving Grounds was originally released on PC in October of 2015 and has maintained a 'Mostly Positive' rating among Steam users.

If you never played the PC version of the game, now is your chance to play the game on PS4. The game includes two different game modes with four objective types. In the game you play as a U.S. Army Soldier practicing combat maneuvers in a fabricated training environment. The game also features various character and weapon customization options.

Daniel Kolenich, Executive Producer for America’s Army had this to say in regards to the PS4 release of America’s Army: Proving Grounds:

“July 4th, 2017 is the 15th anniversary of the America’s Army game. We’re excited to bring the latest version of the game to modern consoles.”

America’s Army: Proving Grounds is currently available in open beta on PS4. The game is also available as a free-to-play title on PC via Steam.
