Amiibo Sales Clear 3.5 Million Units Worldwide

Nintendo has announced that their Amiibo line of interactive figurines has been quite successful indeed.

Since their launch in November of last year, more than 3.5 million of the little hunks of plastic fashioned after (mostly) iconic game characters have flown off of store shelves. This announcement comes alongside Nintendo revealing that the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. has sold over 1.5 million units. One can’t help but wonder how high the Amiibo tally would be if all of the figures were readily available at MSRP.

Hopefully they channel this success and do something to pick up the Wii U sales numbers.
