The Airship will take Among Us players to the skies in early 2021 with a brand new map that was revealed during The Game Awards.

December 10, 2020

While it initially released in 2018, it’s hard not to argue that Among Us was one of this year’s major breakout hits thanks to its viral streaming success. With the developer continuing to add on to the experience, the next map coming to Among Us is set to offer players a sky high experience that’s different from past maps.

During The Game Awards 2020, developer InnerSloth revealed the first look at the next map coming to their hit multiplayer game Among Us. Specifically, the new map is called “The Airship,” and as the name implies, it will bring players high into the skies as they try to suss out the imposters among them.

Alongside the reveal of the new map, InnerSloth also confirmed that The Airship will introduce some new mechanics that we haven’t seen in the game’s previous maps. This map will introduce a new set of tasks along with giving players some choice as to the rooms that they start out in, along with a few other surprises…including yes, ladders.

As one of the nominated titles at this year’s show, Among Us didn’t come away from The Game Awards 2020 empty-handed. The hit PC and mobile multiplayer title walked away with two wins during the night, taking home the prizes for Best Multiplayer Game and Best Mobile Game against some heated competition in each category.

Among Us is available now on PC and mobile.
