A patch has just been released for Animal Crossing: New Horizons that corrects a bug that prevented balloons from spawning over players throughout the island.

Just a week ago, players started to notice something going on with the balloons containing presents that float over the island that can be shot down with a slingshot. After getting the Nook Miles Achievement for popping over 300 balloons, those presents stopped floating over the island. While some people might not have noticed at first, the latest holiday event made the issue more apparent.

Bunny day tasks players by finding eggs throughout the game hidden by weird bunny dude. The event ends on April 12th, so players have only a limited amount of time to find the eggs. Some will be inside rocks, some hanging on trees, and some are attached to balloons.

This event led players to notice the bug since plenty of them were trying to find as many sky eggs as they could. Since those balloons were not appearing, players were possibly missing out on recipes and sky eggs necessary to complete DIY projects.

A player over on the Animal Crossing subreddit jotted down their experience on March 30th. Eventually, they contacted Nintendo about the issues. Somehow, creating a second character resolved the problem as long as that character was being played. However, that was only up until the 300 balloons milestone was reached.

Even though the post was only made a few days ago, Nintendo has already put out a patch (in Version 1.1.3) that fixes the problem. That is a relatively quick turn around for a bug fix, so go ahead and update the software on Nintendo Switch if you are looking to round out your collection.
