Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fan Art Swoops In With an Awesome DoDo Airlines Propaganda Poster

Check out this really cool and retro propaganda poster of Animal Crossing: New Horizons DoDo Airlines.

Since COVID-19 cast a dark and deadly shadow over the planet, leaving the house wasn’t an option for most due to quarantine orders. Thankfully, games like Animal Crossing: New Horizon gave many support and comfort during those earlier times due to its relaxing and meditative gameplay. The title also has become its very own unique platform as we’ve seen of late with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who are using the game as a political stage where players of the title can decorate their gardens with official campaign signs as the US presidential election draws closer. With so much potential encapsulated within one game, the world is your oyster when it comes to thinking outside the box and being creative and nothing is as more imaginative than some Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan art.

Over on Reddit, where all the good stuff happens, user thesk8rguitarist has designed a retro DoDo Airlines propaganda poster featuring Orville and Wilbur who run the airline company. For those of you who aren’t too familiar with the ins and outs of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, DoDo Airlines functions like a train station in previous Animal Crossing games and it’s your point of calling if you want to hop over to another player’s island or greet in a friend to come hang out at yours. It also moonlights as a post office where players can post letters and postcards to other players, or themselves, at a cost of 200 bells.

The artist of the unique poster, nicknamed thesk8rguitarist, states that they enjoy dabbling in graphic design over a number of years but that this is the very first time that they had decided to make something for personal use. In the description of the artwork, which is available to purchase, the artist states that “When the capitalist Racoon demands payment for sheltering you from the elements on a deserted island, it’s up to DoDo Airlines to transport you to a new world where you can find all the materials and critters needed to make your island the utopia that you imagine.”. It’s a really cool piece of art that would look great up on any Animal Crossing fan’s wall, making it also a good talking point. Getting over 35k likes on Reddit for his artwork shows how much people are really digging this piece.

If you can envision this poster up in your own home, you can head over to the artists Esty page where you can pick it up for $20 (12×18 inches) or bump it up to a slightly bigger poster for around $27 (24×36 inches) and they also offer international shipping for a few more bucks.

For something wholesome, you should definitely check out 87-year-old grandma Audrey who is a massive Animal Crossing fan. Lately, she took her fans for a comprehensive tour around her new island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Previously, grandma Audrey spent over  3,580 hours on Animal Crossing: New Leaf in the space of four years. Her grandson knew she played the game but had no idea how much until her beloved Nintendo 3DS broke and needed to be repaired, allowing him to have a peek at her process. Over a year later, Audrey was surprised with a brand new Nintendo Switch that included the newly released Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a gift from her fans around the world. A few months on and fans have wondered how this now 89-year-old granny has been getting on with the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020, so if you still haven’t had the chance to jump in, don’t worry as you can pick up your copy right here.
