Animal Crossing: New Horizons: How to See All Lunar New Year Content
The Lunar New Year is almost here! Here's how to see everything Animal Crossing has planned.
It’s no secret that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is wildly popular. It’s a game full of events corresponding with real-world dates so it acted as a stand-in for a lot of canceled holidays in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. As COVID-19 continues to stand in the way of in-person get-togethers, Animal Crossing comes to the rescue, this time helping us celebrate the Lunar New Year. Here’s how to see all the content for the Animal Crossing Lunar New Year.
The first thing you’ll notice when you start up the game on February 12 is Isabelle’s special announcement. She lets everyone know that today is a special holiday and wishes the entire town “good fortune and happiness” before you begin your day.
Walking around town and talking to your villagers, you’ll get some special dialogue revolving around the new year. As each villager has a different personality, try talking to everyone to see what they think about the holiday. Responses will vary from excitement to indifference to confusion, so make sure you check in to see what’s up.
There are a handful of “Chinese New Year” and “Korean New Year” gifts to order from the Nook Shopping app, but other than that, there isn’t much else. There aren’t any exclusive items or activities that go on other than what’s stated above.
Despite the lack of any events of substance, the Animal Crossing Lunar New Year is still nice to have something new to break up the week and talk to your villagers about.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was one of the most popular games of the year in 2020 and made its way onto plenty of Game of the Year lists, including my own. For more coverage of the Animal Crossing Lunar New Year, make sure to stay right here on DualShockers.
