Mr Resetti, Kind of, Returns to Animal Crossing in Latest Update

Everybody's favourite angry mole is back.

For long-term Animal Crossing fans, Mr Resetti is one of the series’ most polarizing characters. On one hand, he had a great look and some genuinely funny dialogue. On the other hand, he was an absolute pain.

The angry mole would pop out of the ground if players reset their game without saving. The more times a player reset their game, the grumpier he would get, even, at times, threatening to delete player’s save files. Unfortunately, due to the autosave function of New Horizons, Resetti’s role was deemed redundant and he was omitted from the game. That was until the most recent update. Kind of.

As of Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 1.7.0, Resetti has returned to the game but only as a seasonal item. He has been added to the game for US celebration, Groundhog Day. Unfortunately for his army of fans, that’s as far as his appearance goes.

The update also added a few other changes to the game. The full patch notes are as follows:

General updates

  • A seasonal event, Festivale, has been added.
  • The following content has also been added:
    • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed an issue preventing players from receiving the mermaid fence recipe from Pascal.
  • Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the gameplay experience.

The majority of the updates are preparing the game for the next major event, Festivale. Festivale follows the last celebration, Toy Day, and sees the party-loving peacock Pavé return to town. During the event, which takes place on February 15, players will have the opportunity to earn a variety of dance moves by returning special feathers to Pavé.
