Having been out now for nearly two months, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was truly the game that we needed at the right moment. Coming right as the world was upended by the coronavirus pandemic, New Horizons proved to be the island escape of our dreams, and has been a resounding success for Nintendo since it debuted. Of course, the game's cozy island aesthetic is a big part of that, and there isn't much of a better way to settle in with some Animal Crossing than to listen to its theme performed by its musicians from the safety of their homes.

Over on its official YouTube channel, Nintendo shared a new video featuring the musicians behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons as they gathered (virtually) from their homes to perform the game's theme music together. Given that the musicians couldn't actually be in the same room together, instead the video splices together footage of them playing for a wholesome at-home performance. So far, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been off to a tremendous start since it released in March 2020. The game has already become one of the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch titles and the best-selling installment of the series as a whole, with the game selling over 13 million units. Players of the game have also gotten quite crafty with their fan creations, such as a player that recreated the map of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in New Horizons and this series of incredible K.K. Slider album cover remakes. Likewise, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer Gary Whitta has taken to creating a massively popular late-night talk show inside the game called "Animal Talking," which has streamed every week with special guests each episode.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
