Animal Farm's Imre Jele has confirmed to DualShockers that the official video game adaption of George Orwell's literary classic, Animal Farm, will release no earlier than late summer 2018.

It's important to note that no earlier than late summer 2018 means that at the very earliest this game will hit around August, but will likely not hit at all during the summer. Whether this means it will arrive in fall or winter 2018, or is more likely to release in 2019, is unclear.

In case you missed it, today the first details of Animal Farm surfaced after the game was initially announced last month. What was revealed is that Animal Farm will be an adventure-tycoon game that places players in the Manor Farm as one of the animals right before the animal revolution commences, and will follow their journey through the ups and downs of Animalism.

As for its gameplay, it will consist of a combination between adventure-game story choices and the managing of the farm in a tycoon-game style. The aim of the gameplay is to provide a "consistent narrative, giving players a chance to experience the consequences of their decisions first hand."

Animal Farm is in development for PC and "other platforms."
