More on the original series, predictions
Anohana (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai in Japanese, Anohana The Flower We Saw That Day in English) was an original anime project led by three people: director Tatsuyuki Nagai, writer and director Mari Okada, and character designer and artist Masayoshi Tanaka.
Together they form a creative group titled the Super Peace Busters, and worked on several anime besides Anohana. The most popular example is Toradora, but there’s also Her Blue Sky, or The Anthem of the Heart. It’s definitely possible they’re teaming up again for a new Anohana movie or TV series sequel. we should know for sure in a few hours, whether anything gets announced or not.
Anohana first aired from April 11 to June 23, 2011, in Japan. The anime is a mix of comedy and tragedy, with a lot of heartbreaking moments. That’s all I can say without going too much into detail to avoid spoilers. Though I’m sure anyone reading this in the first place must have watched the original show. In any case, I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more about this Anohana 10th anniversary project.
