Today BioWare announced with a brief message on its official blog that Anthem Lead Designer Corey Gaspur passed away.

Corey  Gaspur was a veteran developer who started his career at Propaganda Games in 2006, working on Turok, then moving on to BioWare the year after.

In nine years at BioWare he covered multiple roles, including Gameplay Designer, Level Designer and Lead Combat Designer, starting on Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and continuing on Dragon Age: OriginsMass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, also including many of these titles’ DLC packs.

Recently, he was at the forefront of the development of the studio’s new IP Anthem, on which he covered the role of Lead Gameplay Designer.

No more than a few days ago, he welcomed the return of his mentor Casey Hudson as BioWare’s General Manager.

Hudson himself commented, remembering him as “an amazing designer and friend.”

Our thoughts and condolences go to Corey’s family, friends and colleagues.

The best way we have to pay homage to his memory is show you his work once more, from its absolutely impressive reveal at E3 2017.
