Anthem was originally revealed in 2017 and then a year later during E3 2018 at the EA Play press conference, we saw a cinematic trailer. Since then we’ve mainly heard chatter about how Anthem can influence new Dragon Age and Mass Effect games, and even some details on a playable demo arriving this February.

One thing people have been wanting to know apparently is how long Anthem is going to be in regards to the story. During December 2018 both Ben Irving—the Lead Producer of Anthem— and Michael Gamble—Lead Producer at BioWare—replied to users asking for information on this.

Ben Irving replied to one user who was asking if the story for Anthem was on par with other Bioware titles such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Irving's response was that they, the studio, aren’t really commenting on the length and that it’s a “really hard thing to compare”. You can find the specific Tweet below.

Michael Gamble replied to someone else who was asking for an approximation on how long the story would take to complete. His response confirmed that it depends on how the player chooses to play and that there are also a “lot of side missions”. Gamble also states that he’s only played through everything “a few times.”

Gamble’s reply sparked a discussion between users regarding completion times, and he decided to jump back in and remind everyone that Anthem is due to grow post-release. We’ll probably hear more details about the length of Anthem’s story as we grow closer to the release date.

Anthem is due to be arriving for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on February 22, 2019.
