Aonuma Is Still Considering Another Multiplayer Zelda Game

It is unquestionable that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the talk of E3 — however, The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma still has his sights set on multiplayer games in Hyrule. According to an interview with IGN, Aonuma-san had this to say:

I would like to take what I learned from Breath of the Wild and see if we can somehow fuse those learning points into another multiplayer Zelda. For example, with Tri Force Heroes, which followed a similar format of Four Swords, there was a multiplayer involved in that game.

That isn’t to say that any of this experimentation will be in Breath of the Wild — in fact, Aonuma-san was explicitly clear that the next Zelda game will be focusing solely on single player. However, the insistence to create another multiplayer game is still surprising given the luke-warm reception (critically and sales-wise) of The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes.
