Are The Apex Legends Servers Offline?

It looks like the Apex Legends servers are, as of writing, offline. There has been no official word from the developers as to what is causing the outage, but this is what we know.

As of 12pm GMT / 8am ET / 5am PT, the Apex Legends servers were reported by various players as being down. If you attempt to log into the game, you'll be greeted with Error Code 429: Failed to connect to the server.

According to @_ApexStatus, the outage appears to be worldwide. You can check out a heat map of the outage courtest of the ApexStatus Twitter account above.

UPDATE: As of 12:26pm GMT, it looks like the servers are starting to come back online. However, there are reports that the Steam server is still down and experiencing issues with the Apex error code 429. We'll update this article as soon as we have more information.

Players are also reporting that they can log in and play, but the servers appear to be very laggy. This could be due to the mass of people attempting to get online at one time.
