In Apex Legends, one of the most fundamental ingredients for success is having a good team composition. For those unfamiliar with the term, team composition refers to the unique combination of Legends that make up each team. Players who don't place emphasis on the characters in their team will quickly find themselves at quite a disadvantage!
Building an all-star team will allow you to overwhelm your enemies in a way that most teams simply won't be able to. Of course, when playing solo you won't get to decide which Legend your teammates choose, so make sure to adjust your selection accordingly!
10 Fuse, Horizon, Seer
As every member of this composition was designed specifically for aggressive players, this team will absolutely dominate in 3v3 gunfights! While Seer pinpoints the exact location of his enemies, Fuse will be able to combine his tactical and ultimate with Horizon's Black Hole to devastate enemies in her wake.
Timing is key for this composition, so make sure you carefully coordinate your every move with the rest of the team. Typically, the order of attack should be a scan by Seer, followed by a combination of Ultimates from both Fuse and Horizon, and finished with an onslaught of explosions from Fuse!
9 Caustic, Wattson, New Castle
A composition catered carefully to those who love defense, the Caustic + Wattson + New Castle combo will be undeniably effective at holding their ground. For this reason, this team will be most successful during multi-team engagements, and during the final circles.
The inclusion of New Castle will be critical to the team, as otherwise the team's abilities are mostly limited to indoor scenarios. While indoor situations are most desirable, New Castle's shields are going to allow the team to hunker down even in open fields if necessary! This is crucial when the final zone happens to be an area with little cover.
8 Rampart, Ash, Vantage
This team composition is one of the most frustrating to go up against! From a distance, the enemy will be getting tagged and shot at by Vantage and Rampart, while Ash's ultimate will allow them to rapidly rotate when needed!
While the team may lose some viability in the close-range fights, they will easily overpower in those long-range engagements. Especially on Stormpoint where the map is so large and open! This composition is truly an aggressive team's worst nightmare.
7 Bloodhound, Octane, Mad Maggie
This is the kind of team that makes enemies run for dear life. In what is perhaps the most aggressive team on this list, the Bloodhound + Octane + Mad Maggie combo is relentlessly exhausting to go up against.
While Bloodhound spams his fast-regenerating tactical, Mad Maggie is able to easily push enemies out of cover with her Riot Drill. With Octane's inhuman speed, it will be easy for him to change position to a place where the enemies least expect it! If somehow they manage to escape, Octane's Bouncepad will make catching up a piece of cake.
6 Horizon, Wraith, Pathfinder
This combination of Legends makes navigating the maps of Apex Legends a breeze. The great thing about a team of highly mobile legends is never having to worry about a teammate getting left behind!
This composition is also highly versatile, so whether the goal is to push your enemies or high-tail it away from them, there is always a friend with the right tool for the job! Feel free to swap out Octane for anyone on the team if wanted, as the power of his ultimate will not go unrecognized.
5 Revenant, Ash, Lifeline
This is the combo for teams who love to set up those perfect ambush attacks. When the moment strikes, it is very powerful to use Revenant's Death Totem before teleporting directly into an opposing team with Ash!
When all is said and done, Lifeline is going to be a life-saver as she heals everyone back up from the health lost in the process. Try to use Ash's portal from high ground in order to prevent the enemy team from pushing if you happen to get sent back to the totem prematurely!
4 Bloodhound, Mirage, Pathfinder
This squad's primary purpose is much more tactical than the previous entries on this list. Playing it slowly while gathering intelligence on enemy teams is the name of the game here! This slow-paced, thoughtful method of playing will allow your team to make much more informed decisions on how to proceed.
Use Pathfinder to get the high ground, and utilize Mirage's decoys to help reveal the enemy's locations and hiding spots! Both Bloodhound's passive and tactical will help you gather further information on where the enemy could be. This combo works particularly well on top of a building that an enemy is hiding inside.
3 Caustic, Pathfinder, Wattson

This setup will create some hilarious kills if utilized effectively. Most players will hop onto Pathfinder's zip lines without ever second-guessing where it takes them, so use this to your advantage!
At the end of said zip line, bombard the landing area with gas traps and fences to damage, slow down, and disorient the enemy. There was never an easier kill in Apex! It should be self-explanatory that the traps should be mostly out of sight from the enemy until they are practically on top of them. This tactic of loading an area with traps can also be used on the landing area of a gravity cannon on Stormpoint.
2 Bangalore, Bloodhound, Valkyrie
If used properly, this composition of Legends will leave your enemies with no choice but to run. When closely engaged with an enemy team, have Bangalore drop a smoke directly on top of everyone. Have Bloodhound immediately thereafter use his tactical, (or ultimate,) to allow the rest of the team to easily locate and eliminate the opponents!
Meanwhile, Valkyrie can fly up to find and target any enemies that happen to escape the smoke safely! Firing her tactical into the smoke is also a great way to further inhibit enemies without affecting her on team's capabilities too much.
1 Valkyrie, Horizon, Pathfinder
This team truly excels at vertical movement and overwhelming the enemy. This team should easily be capable of sending enemies scrambling for cover as they each have the capability to scale any area in the game!
Because of the extreme vertical prowess of this squad, it is also impressively simple to keep track of where every enemy is, and once the team has decided on it, drop down at once to finish the job. The trick here is to never stop moving.
