Respawn Entertainment has officially revealed the new Legend coming to Apex Legends in Season 15: Eclipse. Known as Catalyst, she is described as an "experienced terraformer and defensive conjurer," whose full name is Tressa Smith. It's stated that she uses her control of ferrofluid to manipulate the battlefield.
Along with a website that shows her off, and lists some new things coming with the season, Apex Legends also released a new Stories from the Outlands trailer with further details on Catalyst's backstory. Despite the 4-minute-long trailer going into great detail on Catalyst, her in-game abilities have still yet to be confirmed by Respawn Entertainment.
The story here seems to take place before Catalyst masters her terraforming abilities, and it focuses more on her relationship with a character named Margo. After discovering that Hammond was harvesting the moon known as Cleo and destroying it, Margo hatches a plan to infiltrate their base and blow it up. During a heartfelt conversation before the mission, it is revealed that Catalyst 'transitioned', suggesting that Catalyst is a trans woman.
The new season of Apex Legends is also set to bring a 'stellar new map', with the simple description; "In Boreas' shadow, the newest home of the Apex Games gleams." As previously reported, Eclipse will also add the ability to gift in-game content to other players. Players will be able to buy individual items, like Legend or weapon skins, or you can also purchase them in bundles.
There are some restrictions though. To send a gift, a player has to be at least level 10, have their account in good standing, and have Login Verification activated. Furthermore, you have to have been friends with the person you want to send a gift to for at least two weeks, likely to prevent black market trade. However, with that out of the way, you can send your friends gifts from the Store tab, no matter what platform they play on.
