Apex Legends is already one of the more popular battle royales out there. However, it's about to get even better. As part of the upcoming Aftermarket Collection Event, the game will get cross-play. Now, the much-requested feature is still in beta, but it's still a step toward what everyone wants. Of course, it's far from the only thing coming with the Aftermarket. Give the new event trailer a watch below.

Again, the big news is, without a doubt the cross-play beta coming to Apex Legends. You'll be able to party up with your friends on PC via Origin, PS4, and Xbox One. Steam support will hit at a later date. Cross-play is toggled on by default, but you can turn it off if you want. You'll be able to add friends regardless of their platform of choice and parties can use in-game voice chat.

It is worth noting; however, that the game doesn't support cross-progression just yet. It sounds like the team is working on it, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Alongside cross-play, Apex Legends is getting a new limited-time game mode and some fancy skins. Flash Points are areas around the map that regenerate your health and shields over time. It's important to find these quickly because healing items don't spawn in this game mode.

And, on top of all that, the circle is following the Always Be Closing rules. It never stops getting smaller and will end on a Flash Point. That should make those final moments of a match even more exhilarating.

There are also several new skins to earn and an event prize track for even more cosmetics. All told, it's shaping up to be a solid event.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Aftermarket Collection Event kicks off October 6.
