DualShockers were recently lucky enough to be invited to a special preview event for Apex Legends Season 11: Escape, during which the age-old question of Titans came up once again.

As many fans will know, Apex Legends is set in the same universe as another Respawn Entertainment game, Titanfall. And if you've played Titanfall, you'll know that it has huge playable mechs, also known as Titans.

Ever since the release of Apex Legends back in 2019, more and more weapons and legends have made their way into the game from the original Titanfall series. But one feature still remains to be seen, Titans.

After being pressed by the community on several different occasions, Respawn has stated before that they have no intention to bring Titans to Apex Legends. However, during the recent preview event, the developers revealed that they have in fact been tested.

Respawn Entertainment Has Been Testing Titans In Apex Legends

During the recent preview event for Apex Legends Season 11, a Q&A took place between the press and Respawn Entertainment. During this, a question was put to the team surrounding the size of their maps, as Storm Point is 15% larger than the game's previous record-holder, World's Edge. To be specific, Respawn Entertainment was asked if their maps would continue to grow to the point that they could support the inclusion of Titans.

The question was then answered by Steven Ferreira, the Team Director at Respawn, who said that maps do indeed have the potential to grow even more. As for them being big enough to support Titans, Ferreira revealed this wasn't the main issue when it comes to adding them into the game.

Ferreira went on to say "We've tried Titans a few different times in building prototypes through Apex, there are some balance issues that Titans bring to the game that we have yet to find the right solution to".

But there is a glimmer of hope as Ferreira went on to say that it "doesn't mean we're not going to find the right solution, but I don't think making the map bigger is going to be part of that solution".

As stated by Ferreira, adding giant powerful mechs into an existing game that is 11 seasons deep can be complicated, and would most definitely end up being overpowered.

It's safe to say that adding Titans into Apex Legends isn't exactly at the forefront of Respawn's 'to-do-list', but it's nice to know that the idea has been considered and the developers are at least thinking about ways to include them into the game.

Will that be anytime soon? Probably not, but there is plenty of other Titanfall content coming to Apex Legends in Season 11. On November 2nd, players will be able to play with the fan favourite C.A.R SMG from Titanfall, as well as the newest Legend, Ash. The latest season of Apex Legends is shaping up to be a special one if you're a die-hard Titanfall fan.
