As the next season of Apex Legends looms ever-closer, fan excitement is through the roof. The newly introduced Valkyrie has fans of Apex and Titanfall alike eager to get to know everything about the character including her voice actress Erika Ishii.

Introduced in the incredible "Stories from the Outlands - Northstar" animated short, Valkyrie is the daughter of Titanfall 2 antagonist Viper. In the roughly eight minutes we've had with Valkyrie, she's already been established as a complex character largely in part to the vocal performance of Erika Ishii.

Who is Erika Ishii?

Erika Ishii is an American actress best known for her work in the video game industry. Throughout more than two decades in the industry, she's voiced characters such as Ruth Dzeng in Cyberpunk 2077, Ana Bray (starting with the Season of the Worthy expansion) and Kridis in Destiny 2, Maddy Cho in Marvel's Avengers, and has provided plenty of additional voice work for games such as The Last of Us Part II, Shenmue III, and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Ishii is also notably known for her work appearing in Critical Role for two episodes and in the Viz Media English dubbing of Sailor Moon as Jun-Jun.

In regards to her role as Valkyrie in the new season of Apex Legends, Ishii said on Twitter, "my whole life, I’ve waited for a character like her. For a story like this. @PlayApex, thank you. My call sign is Valkyrie. And the skies belong to me."
