After launching only yesterday, Apex Legends has already caused a buzz of excitement with players flocking to try out the free-to-play Battle Royale from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment. Yesterday saw the title already break over one million players.Confirmed by CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella shared a Tweet stating Apex Legends "broke a million unique players in under 8 hours." He also thanks everyone who took part by saying, "Thank you so much for showing up and being part of this with @Respawn you are amazing!!"

On top of that, at some point, last night Apex Legends had raked up 192k viewers on Twitch. If you're unsure what all the fuss about this title is, it was rumored that the developer was working on Titanfall 3, but instead, talks of a Battle Royale game were doing the round. During the Super Bowl, Apex Legends was revealed to be a Battle Royale title and also launched yesterday and a gameplay trailer is also available.

Regarding the above Tweet, some users were expressing interest in the game, some calling for certain features. One user in particular mentioned bringing wall-running to Apex Legends. Zampella replied to say that is wasn't as fun and balanced, indicating that they had thought about it. He also confirms that they'll be trying new features or mechanics as they go.

It has been confirmed that the anticipated Titanfall 3 is not in development, only Apex Legends. The Battle Royale plays similarly to other Battle Games such as Fortnite and Blackout. Players drop in, grab loot, and survive.

It is a free-to-play title but comes with microtransactions which are explained here, but essentially allows you to purchase cosmetics and new characters, Currently, there are eight playable characters, but two of these are locked behind a paywall.

Apex Legends is available for free now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
