The Next Apex Legends Hero Might Not Be Forge After All

If Respawn's latest video is anything to by, it looks like Revenant will be taking Forge's place as the next hero to join Apex Legends.

Late last week, Respawn pulled back the curtain on the upcoming fourth season for their hit battle royale Apex Legends. In the reveal, they talked about Forge, the newest legend to enter the game. However, with their latest video, they have just pulled the old bait-and-switch. The video, which you can watch below, is a minute-long interview with Forge. If you stick around to the end, you’ll see Revenant pop into the interview and assassinate Forge. Check it out.

There are two possibilities here. Either Respawn is just playing with their fans or Revenant is taking Forge’s place as the next Legend to enter the arena. However, if you go check the Apex Legends‘ website, it’s pretty clear its the latter. There, you can see that Forge’s info panel now reads as “RIP Jimmie ‘Forge’ McCormick”, confirming that he is dead.

Of course, this isn’t a surprise for some of you. This trailer leaked over the weekend, so it wasn’t completely out of nowhere. That said, it’s an out-there move to announce a new hero for the game and then kill him off before we even get a chance to see him in action. That said, Revenant is someone the community has been wanting, so the switch makes sense. Hopefully, he plays as great as he looks.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Season 4 will kick off on February 4. And, if you really want to test yourself, the Apex Legends Global Series is kicking off at the end of next month.
