APEX Legends developer Respawn Entertainment revealed new details coming soon to the game including Season 4 Assimilation which begins on February 4. The developer held a devstream with numerous members of the team speaking about the additions that will be coming to the hit Battle Royale title. The new season includes a new hero named Forge, a renowned MMA fighter whos abilities will naturally focus on getting up close and personal. Along with Forge will be a new weapon called the Sentinel, a bolt-action sniper rifle. Other features in season 4 include series 3 of ranked play as well as new changes to the World's Edge map. Respawn will also be giving out anniversary gifts to all players once season 4 begins next month.

On top of the season 4 news from January 25-27 players will be able to qualify for the APEX Legends Global Series. There will also be a second qualifier from February 29 to March 2. All qualifiers will compete in a major tournament in Arlington, Texas taking place March 13-15. The Global Series will feature teams from sixty different countries competing in twelve events around the world for a three million dollar cash prize. The first two events for the series will be taking place on April 24-26 in Paris and May 30-31 in Bucharest.

APEX Legends continues to get bigger and bigger with no end in sight. While it hasn't surpassed the pop culture phenomenon Fortnite it has a dedicated community of players that love what makes it stand out from the other Battle Royal competitors. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game will grow and change throughout 2020.
