Apex Legends Update (May 27)

We first learned of Valkyrie receiving a nerf from Apex Legends Associate Live Balance Designer, John Larson. On May 25, Larson tweeted out the following:

It has been discovered by the Apex Legends team that some players were using the Valkyrie Jetpack Passive Ability in an unfair way.

During the final minutes of an Apex Legends match, players using Valkyrie have been found to be hovering in the sky for an extended period of time. Although Valkyrie is unable to shoot her weapon whilst hovering, it's become a bit of a nuisance and not how the developers wanted the legend to be used.

To combat this, the latest Apex Legends update has nerfed Valkyrie's Passive Ability by removing the 'Tac Hover' ability to consume fuel at 10% of the normal rate.

5/27/21 Update

  • Switch Fixes:
    • Fixed an issue with Switch users being kicked from the game due to system clock manipulation. Sorry Animal Crossing time travelers! Go get your bells.
    • Added a missing confirmation message after purchasing the Bloodhound x Lifeline edition.
  • Valkyrie adjustment:
    • Hovering while using Valk's tactical now consumes the same amount of fuel compared to hovering while not using her tactical. This is a balance change meant to address Valkyrie players staying out of the fight for extended periods of time in late-game circles.
  • Arenas:
    • Fixed the "Win X rounds in Arenas" challenges not tracking wins correctly.
  • Other:
    • Fixed a flickering issue caused by Legends with light effects in the lobby.
    • Miscellaneous stability fixes.
