Apparently, Dragon Quest Heroes is Not Another Dynasty Warriors Clone

There are tons of successful titles that use the Dynasty Warriors formula. Dynasty Warriors itself, Pirate Warriors 1 and 2, and most recently Hyrule Warriors have all done rather well at using the “slash em up” style of playing to entertain most gamers.

There is however, a very large group of consumers that hates this genre of gaming, because they feel like it makes the games feel cheap.

Well the producer for Dragon Quest Heroes is aware of this and has gotten ahead of rumors that the game will be a “Musou” (which basically just means a Warriors type of game) and has decided to distance the game from that particular subclass.

With a tweet released earlier today, you he says something to the effect of “This game is not a Musou Game. It is an Action / RPG title that will arrive in Spring 2015 in Japan”

The only issue is, that if you look at the gameplay, the game does look like it draws heavy influence from the Warriors series. What do you think? Check out the trailer below:

One of the few Anime Nerds that won't scare you off during a conversation. A gamer that is, and has always been open to trying new experiences regardless of the resolution or company behind the game. You may think that you enjoy fighters, but this guy has played them all & still spends his time looking for more. Whether he's fighting pink stretchy aliens as Goku, battling reanimated ninjas as Naruto, or warding off swarms of hollowed soldiers as the Chosen Undead, this gamer loves to take the role of the hero in any genre.
