Aquaman Splashes Onto the Scene in Injustice: Gods Among Us

on February 13, 2013 1:43 PM

One after another, Injustice: Gods Among Us has revealed new characters recently, including Shazam (Captain Marvel), Doomsday, Hawkman (in the background) and Lex Luthor (as well as a few Arkham inmates who appear in the background of a stage). The newest reveal is the king of the seas himself, Aquaman, along with some story tidbits that reveal where the world of Injustice is by the time of the game.

In the trailer, which you can view below (along with a few screenshots), we see that Aquaman has been at odds with Superman’s regime for some time, and with added pressure from the Flash and Shazam, Aquaman–and all of Batman’s allies–will have to take a more aggressive stance soon.

This was a choice I expected, especially with Aquaman’s prominence in DC Comics’ New 52 reboot. As a long time fan (even before writer Geoff Johns got his hands on him) it would have been nice to see him be a badass without his trident, but a few water-related moves show off at least a little diversity to his moveset.

Would it be too much to ask for the Waterbearer bracelet or some seizure-inducing telepathy moves?

Are you excited about Aquaman’s inclusion in the game? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to for more news.
