EVO 2018 is finally winding down, but it brought another small piece of news from the Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 finals broadcasted from Las Vegas.

After announcing the ArcRevo World Tour, Arc System Works founder and Managing Director Minoru Kidooka took the stage to make an announcement through a translator:

"Unfortunately Daisuke (Ishiwatari, Guilty Gear Director) could not join us this year at EVO, but he is working really really hard right now at the office on something Guilty Gear. So stay tuned. Arc System Works is guts! Thank you so much!"

This is most likely the first mention of a new Guilty Gear game in development, even if no further details were provided. That being said, Guilty Gear can probably start getting excited for an announcement down the line.

Could we hear something at Tokyo Game Show in September? It's hard to say, but the prospect is certainly exciting.

It's been over a year since the launch of Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, which is available for PS3, PS4, and PC. Times are certainly mature for something new.
