VR arcade-shooter Archangel’s multiplayer update, titled Archangel: Hellfire, was announced last month by developer Skydance Interactive. While the full update won’t arrive until next month, those who already own the game can get a taste of multiplayer via Archangel: Hellfire Early Access Battle Training, which began today.
This Early Access version of Archangel: Hellfire is currently available on both Steam and the Oculus Store to those who already own the base game. While the final version of Archangel: Hellfire will include three maps and a cooperative PvE mode, only two maps, the Genesis Facility and Collins Base, and the 2v2 Team Deathmatch mode are available in Early Access Battle Training.
Outside of the new modes and maps, this update adds six new mechs, which all have unique abilities and are split between three classes. On the technical side of things, controls have also been slightly tweaked to make combat flow smoother.
Check out some new screenshots and the first official gameplay trailer for the expansion below. On June 28, Archangel: Hellfire will launch on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, though owners of the base game can try out the Early Access Battle Training now.
