If you read my hands-on preview of ArcheAge a while ago, you probably know the basics of the upcoming MMORPG by XLGAMES well enough. What you probably didn't know is that the game is going to go into open beta in Korea next January.

XLGAMES officially announced, in fact, the calendar for the open beta testing of the game, that will follow these dates:

• December the 17th: client download available (it's a big one, after all. About 30 GB).
• December the 19th - December the 30th: character creation available (this should ease the congestion at the beginning of the open beta).
• January the 2nd, 2013: start of the open beta.

Unfortunately, it's still unlikely that Western players will be accepted unless directly invited, but you can expect quite a lot of information coming once the open beta starts. In the meanwhile you can check the artwork released by XLGAMES for the occasion above. If you squint, you can see some races that were never revealed before.
