Are Apex Legends Servers Down? Devs Respond to Reports of Crashes

The Apex servers seem to be crashing for some, but devs are aware of the issue.

UPDATE: You can find the update for this article right here. Devs have responded by taking some items out of the game that they believe might be causing the problem for the time being. Original story is as follows:

Hot off the heels of the start of last week’s Chaos Theory Collection event, Apex Legends is in a great spot to be one of the biggest battle royale games this spring. Apex servers might have other ideas.

Since the start of the Chaos Theory Collection event and the launch of the Apex Legends Nintendo Switch port, the game has had a few issues.

Between overloud repeating sound effects, exploits with the heat shields, and persistent issues with Loba’s tactical, Respawn Entertainment has had their hands full.

Here’s their response to the Apex servers crashing.

Apex Servers Developer Response

Today, Respawn Entertainment reassured fans of Apex Legends that they are aware of the server issues plaguing the game. They said in a tweet, “We’re aware of an exploit causing server crashes for @PlayApex players. Investigating.” It’s unclear right now when a fix for the server crashes is coming, but hopefully, it’s soon.

Respawn has been quick to fix some of the bugs mentioned above and has issued a small handful of patches over the past few weeks to combat them. The fix will most likely be sent out in the next week or so, but as game development and server management aren’t as cut and dry as we sometimes assume, it may take longer.
