I hope you've got your Raid Passes saved up because Pokemon GO Fest Day Two is here to take them away with every single Legendary Pokemon returning to raids.

Amongst the returning Legendary Pokemon are the trio of birds from Pokemon Blue and Red.

But are Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos still good in Pokemon GO? What's their best moveset and can they be shiny? We have the answers for you.

Can The Trio be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

These three are probably the most common Shiny Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres' Shiny forms released all the way back in 2018. With Articuno and Zapdos arriving in July and Moltres a few months later in September.

Unfortunately, the Legendary Birds don't have the most exciting Shiny forms in the game, with Articuno turning a lighter blue, Zapdos a darker yellow/orange and Moltres turning red and looking like a plucked chicken.

As they are Legendary Pokemon, they have vastly increased shiny odds of at most, 1/20.

Are Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos Good in Pokemon GO? What are Their Best Movesets?

Despite being around for a while, all three of these Pokemon still hold their own in Pokemon GO.

Articuno

Articuno has value across all three leagues in PVP. According to PVPoke, it falls just outside the top 100 Great League Pokemon, coming in at 101st place. Despite this, it still picks up wins against Medicham, Altaria, Skarmory and Umbreon.

Articuno is ranked at a very impressive 15th place in the Ultra League, again, picking up key wins against some of the division's biggest players.

It's also very useful in the Master League as its Ice typing means it can butt heads with some of the division's powerful Dragons.

The only downside to Articuno is you'll need an Elite Charged TM to get its best moveset, which you can find below:

  • Fast Move - Ice Shard
  • Charge Move - Icy Wind
  • Charge Move - Hurricane*

Zapdos

If you're going to raid any of the Legendary Birds, you're going to want to pick Zapdos.

It has a great average ranking and is incredibly powerful in all three leagues. It comes in at 63rd place in the Great League, 103rd in the Ultra league and 25th in the Master League.

Unfortunately, like Articuno, you're going to need an Elite TM to get Zapdos' best moveset - this time an Elite Fast TM though. You can see its best moveset below:

  • Fast Move - Thunder Shock*
  • Charge Move - Drill Peck
  • Charge Move - Thunderbolt

Moltres

Moltres is by far the worst of the three Legendary Birds.

It struggles massively in both the Great and Ultra Leagues, ranking at 361st and 187th respectively.

It has some niche usage in the Master League, beating some really tricky foes including Mewtwo and Yveltal, but it still falls short of great. It also needs an Elite Charged TM to be decent.

Its best moveset is below:

  • Fast Move - Fire Spin
  • Charge Move - Overheat
  • Charge Move - Sky Attack*
