Phase 4 is the next series of films and serials that will take place in the MCU, starting with Black Widow for the theatres this year and WandaVision that premiered in January. Eternals will belong to the continuation of the MCU epic by being the third film of this phase and perhaps picking up the story after the Avengers are without a leader.

Are The Eternals Connected To The Avengers?

Since they belong to the same universe, they are undoubtedly connected. With the Avengers most likely to take the center stage of the MCU for years to come, it is also highly likely that Eternals will tie in their story with them.

Regardless, one of the most infamous Eternals has already taken up a quarrel spanning decades and the death of half the universe. Yep, Thanos himself is an Eternal, at least in the comics. It won't be surprising to see him referred to as an Eternal in the MCU as well also.

At the end of the new official teaser for Eternals, we see them chatting about how The Avengers are left without a leader in the MCU. Moreover, Richard Madden who plays Eternal Ikaris, quips about becoming their new leader which amuses everyone else, so there is definitely a connection there.

Eternals releases in theatres in November 2021.
