Part of the controversy whenever you allow players to reserve names for a game is what to do when they go unclaimed. Players that put a claim on their Guild Wars names for Guild Wars 2 got first dibs at them when the game launched, but what happens if your favorite name like Kokkgarbler got reserved, but not claimed? Many have been asking for an answer for this question and ArenaNet now has a post up explaining where they will go from here.

Now that they have had time to dig through all of the support tickets and iron out any issues that may have been present in the system, ArenaNet will be releasing the remaining reserved names for the public starting next week. Thursday, November 8th at 2pm PST the floodgates will open and all currently reserved names will be opened up on a first come, first serve basis. That means if you're desperate to be Kokkgarbler, you should be at your computer at that time looking to make that character as fast as possible.
