Today's State of Play from Playstation was full of big announcements. We got updates on anticipated games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and MediEvil. Sony announced next month's star-studded PS Plus lineup and revealed a smorgasbord of new PSVR games. Oh, and The Last of Us Part II got a new trailer and details. The briefing also gave us a first look at a new game from a new studio. Piccolo Studio is working with Techland's publishing department to bring Arise to the PS4. Give the short trailer a watch below.

Details in the trailer were light. That said, the colorful world they're building looks like a ton of fun to explore. The game has some serious Journey vibes, which I'm personally always down for. There's also that shot at the end with a bunch of dark figures that suggest there might be something more sinister to discover. There also isn't too much to glean from the developer's write-up on the Playstation blog; however, it's clear that Arise will put a heavy focus on its story.

With this being a small, relatively unknown studio, expectations need to be kept in check. What they've shown thus far has me intriguing and I'm very interested to watch how the game does moving forward. That said, I need to see some gameplay before I become truly invested. Hopefully, Piccolo Studio can deliver on the promise they've shown here.

Arise is coming December 3 to PS4. Check out all the other State of Play news here at DualShockers.
