A new patch has been released for Arma 2 that will bring the game up to version 1.62 and improve a lot of things in the core game as well as its DLC bundles creating a more stable and enjoyable experience along with some new video options and script commands for video makers. Most interestingly perhaps is that the update aims to create the Day Z mod more stable as well. Game mods overtaking the core game in popularity is nothing new to the PC market (ask Team Fortress 2 for more details), but it's still neat to see one embraced this much by the developers.

After all I'm sure Day Z had a lot to do with the reason Arma 2 is even a name most of you are familiar with at this point. Whether you're into the core game or just want a more stable zombie killing/bean hording experience this patch spells good news for everyone! Go download it now and start surviving.
