Bohemia Interactive has announced that the PC-exclusive, Arma 3, will be opening up participation to gamers for the alpha of the game on March 5th. The alpha will allow access to a limited amount of content until the beta launches in the second quarter of the year with full release planned for  Q3 2013.

Arma 3 features four mission types that include Infantry, Vehicles, Scuba, and Helicopter. Each feature a subset of weapons and vehicles, two multiplayer scenarios, a scenario editor, and support for modding.

Gamers will be able to participate in the alpha by purchasing either Arma 3 Alpha for $32.99 or Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition for $49.99 on Steam. Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition includes digital soundtrack, maps, tactical, guide, and steam gift of Arma: Cold War Assault. Both versions also include access to the beta and a digital copy of the full game when it is released. Each edition released after Arma 3 Alpha will see a price increase.

There will also be a sponsor version, Arma 3 Supporter Edition, that will retail for $91.99 on Store.bistudio.com. This version will feature all the extras of the digital deluxe version, all future DLCs, and the chance to get your name in the credits of the game. There will also be a free release of the alpha starting March 14th, which does not include multiplayer or modding support and can only be accessed through invite-only. This version will expire on June 15th with no cool perks provided afterward.

PC gamers into military shooters will want to check this out and jump on these deals before the prices jump up.
