Arma 3's "SITREP I" Community Guide Video Walks You Through New Features and Improvements

June 27, 2013

Have you been wanting to get into the Arma franchise but haven’t known where to start?

ShackTactical’s Andrew Gluck, better known as Dslyecxi, and Arma‘s developer Bohemia Interactive have just the remedy, introducing the first of a series of Community Guide “SITREP” videos that show off the new features and improvements of Arma 3.

In the video, which you can view below, a slew of details were given, including additions like different stances (for full control over what position you fire from, be it stomach flat-on the ground, on one knee, hunched over, up-straight, etc), extended customization of your soldier and weapons, underwater diving, improved environments (and, in-turn, improved camouflage), fog, war photography, heavy modder support, downloadable content, new factions, new transports and more.

The game is supposed to release fully during Q3 2013 period, although a public beta will start shortly before. The Arma 3 Beta (34.99 EUR/29.99 GBP/44.99 USD) and the Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition (44.99 EUR/39.99 GBP/59.99 USD) are available for purchase from Steam (both include a Steam version of the full retail game upon release). The price of each edition will increase once the full and final game becomes available.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
