Armored Warfare Caribbean Crisis Expansion Released; Adds New Map, Mode, and More

on December 22, 2017 4:18 PM

If you’ve been craving for some more content in Armored Warfare then today is your lucky day. Developer and publisher My.com has officially released a brand new update for the game, and it packs in a ton of extra content.

First and foremost, the expansion, which is titled Caribbean Crisis, adds a brand new multiplayer map called Grassy Fields, which is set in an open countryside on the eastern coast of Croatia. The new map also includes a brand new feature, Night Battles, which will task players with using their night vision equipment on their vehicles in order to win.

In addition to that, players will now be able to earn Epic Medals, which will be awarded to those who are able to pull off amazing feats. While the full list of conditions on how to earn this reward has not yet been announced, it was revealed that earning a certain number of kills in one life, and spotting a certain number of vehicles can do the trick.

A number bugs were also fixed as well. You can check out the full list of patch notes, as well as a brand new trailer for Caribbean Crisis, at the end of the article.

Armored Warfare has been in beta since October 2015. The game is currently available on PC.

New PvE mode “Special Operations”

We are introducing a new PvE mode called “Special Operations”, where players will have the opportunity to play multiple missions (“chapters”) bound together by a common storyline into a continuous year-long campaign. For more information, please visit our dedicated article.

The mode will feature the following achievements with special rewards:

  • Complete all three chapters of the first Special Operation
  • Complete the entire Special Operation on “Hardcore” difficulty
  • Complete the entire Special Operation with a MBT
  • Complete the entire Special Operation with a LT
  • Complete the entire Special Operation with a TD
  • Complete the entire Special Operation with a AFV
  • Complete the entire Special Operation with a SPG
  • Complete the third chapter in under 10 minutes on “Hardcore” difficulty

  • Complete the second chapter on “Hardcore” difficulty while dealing at least 10000 damage and without being spotted
  • Complete the second chapter on “Hardcore” difficulty without allowing the enemy to hit the ship even once
  • Complete the first chapter on “Hardcore” difficulty while the entire team destroys 43 vehicles or more
  • Complete the third chapter on “Hardcore” difficulty without anyone on the team dying, 5 times

Night Fighting Mode

We are introducing a new night fighting game mode to both PvP and PvE. Initially, the mode will be used on a single PvP map, Grassy Fields. Use your vehicle’s night vision devices and thermal optics to master the art of warfare in the darkness of moonless nights. Limited visibility will make spotting difficult, improving the importance of reconnaissance and battlefield awareness.

This mode features the following changes compared to the standard rules:

  • Viewrange of all vehicles reduced to 40%
  • Camouflage factor of all vehicles increased by 30%
  • Firing instantly reduces camouflage to zero

First Victory of the Day Overhaul

We’ve overhauled the First Victory of the Day bonus. Starting from Update 0.23, the bonus will be awarded for each mode individually – receiving the First Victory of the Day bonus in PvE will allow you to receive it on the same vehicle again in PvP or Global Operations.

Game Economy Changes

Following the changes made in Update 0.22, we are introducing a few more adjustments to the game economy.

For one, we’ve significantly increased the amount of Reputation players receive for dealing damage and for support. Furthermore:

  • We fixed the formula calculating the rewards for damaging a higher Tier vehicle – this results in more fair rewards, addressing the cases where a player of lower Tier who did more damage than a player of higher Tier receives less rewards
  • The victory multiplier to Reputation income for the Encounter PvP mode was increased from 25% to 50%
  • Falarick ATGM (105mm and 120mm versions) prices were somewhat lowered

Commander Skill Changes

We rebalanced a number of Commander Skills in order to improve their effect and value. Specifically:

  • Skills that reduce the penalties for crew or module losses
  • Skills offering reduced damage from ramming
  • Skills offering faster ammunition swap
  • Conditional skills, triggered upon destroying enemy vehicle’s module, upon using a consumable, upon dealing damage at over 300 meters and upon start of a fire

General Changes

  • We’ve overhauled the garage lighting system to make the models more visually appealing
  • We’ve also improved the shader mechanism, its stability and texture loading, solving numerous issues and artifacts
  • Custom match in-game chat messages are now visible to other players
