Army of the Dead has just come out on Netflix for everyone to enjoy, and fans are already wondering if the AOFD universe will expand with other movies.

Well, you'll be delighted to know that Zack Snyder has so much else to offer in the newly set zombie universe, one of them being a Prequel movie.

Apparently, Netflix and Zack Snyder started the production of Army of the Dead Prequel last year. And on December 22, 2020, Snyder announced on Twitter that they have already finished filming the Prequel, officially titled Army of Thieves.

Snyder produced the Army of the Dead prequel, but he wasn't on the director's chair for this one. Instead, the movie is written and directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, one of the Army of the Dead actors.

Army of the Dead Prequel Story

As the title and the nature of the movie suggests, Army of Thieves will follow the events before Snyder's Army of the Dead. We'll witness the early days of the viral zombie outbreak and deep dive into Ludwig Dieter's backstory. In short, fans will finally learn why exactly this character has an immense love for cracking safes.

Besides Ludwig Dieter, the prequel will introduce many new characters with their own story arcs.
