The wasteland is not a kind place in Mad Max, which is exemplified in a Wasteland Mission that tasks Max with finding rotting corpses and marking them for a man named Jeet. The usage of dead bodies as a source for gunpowder reminds me of fat being used to create bombs in Fight Club, and helps create a more believable post-apocalypse. Thanks for YouTube user Jowehh for the footage.

Jeet needs more saltpeter and sulfur to expand his gunpowder operation and start trading with Gutgash. Saltpeter is gained from rotting bodies, and sulfur from volcanic vents. Locate and mark sources of each. Reward: An Armory project in Gutgash's Stronghold.

The gameplay that follows sees Max speeding through the wasteland, occasionally finding convoy routes, running into opposing factions, and reaching his destination to collect scrap and shoot off a flare. It gives a good sense for the beat-for-beat gameplay you will engage with when Mad Max releases Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
