Assassin's Creed has been no stranger to branching out into other forms of media thanks to the release of last year's feature film, and now the long-running game series may become an animated series in the near future for fans of the franchise.

Adi Shankar - the producer behind this week's upcoming Castlevania animated series on Netflix - has announced in a Facebook post that his next project will take on the Assassin's Creed series through an anime-style adaptation of the series, as he mentioned in his full statement:

I'm happy to let you guys know that I've selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin's Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin's Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.

That's all the info to go off of at the moment as distribution for the series has not been confirmed just yet, but given Shankar's work on the upcoming Castlevania series, it seems likely that Netflix could be a candidate for an anime Assassin's Creed series.
