Assassin’s Creed III is Also Coming to the Wii U

It seems most everyone knew everything pertinent when it came to Assassin’s Creed III before Ubisoft said word one, from the leaks and teases last week to the Game Informer coverage earlier today. Yes, it’s set in colonial America during the Revolutionary War. Yes, it’s starring a protagonist whose heritage is part Native American. And, yes, it’s coming out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS3.

But guess what? The game’s also in development for the Wii U. That and an announcement trailer are all Ubisoft had up its sleeve when it officially announced details for Assassins Creed III earlier today. With details of the console’s launch coming soon–if not at GDC, then certainly at E3. Probably E3–it’s no surprise the series latest installment will appear on Nintendo’s new console. But will it take advantage of the tablet controller? And how? That we’ll have to wait and see.
