Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, the first Assassin's Creed title to star a female assassin as well as a PS Vita exclusive will be receiving a re-release on consoles. Ubisoft announced today that the game, which has dropped the "III" and will simply be titled, Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD.

The decision was made after a lengthy petition on the Ubisoft forums was notic ed by developers. Like most HD remasters, Assassin's Creed: Liberation will contain updated graphics and audio, as well as additional content. Ubisoft has characterized the game as a short-burst experience, amounting to about 2o hours of play.

Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD will be published in 2014 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
