A Japanese retailer may have revealed the release date for Assassin's Creed Mirage, according to Gematsu. Although yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft, it looks like Assassin's Creed Mirage could be released on October 12th. It's not uncommon for retailers to include a placeholder date for titles that have yet to be given a firm release date, but as Gematsu pointed out, this isn't common practice for Japanese retailers. With the next PlayStation showcase only a matter of hours away, fans are questioning whether an announcement could be made at the event.

First revealed back in September of 2022, Ubisoft has kept details on Mirage's release date close to its chest. However, shortly after its reveal, a report from an industry insider suggested that the next Assassin's Creed game was targeting an August 2023 release date, stating that it had been "internally delayed" twice already.

Then, a more recent report indicated that Assassin's Creed Mirage had been internally delayed once again, this time into 2024. Whether or not either of these rumors is true is yet to be seen, but given that Ubisoft plans to host a special Ubisoft Forward event next month, we might not have to wait too much longer to find out.

In response to today's news surrounding an October release date, some speculated that the date had been updated ahead of a possible reveal at today's PlayStation Showcase event. The event is set to take place at 1PM PT / 4PM ET / 9PM BST, with over an hour of footage from upcoming PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 titles. Sony has even said that fans can "expect a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios", as well as several games from third-party studios.

As mentioned previously, Ubisoft will be hosting its own showcase next month, so if the studio has any plans to announce a release date for Assassin's Creed Mirage, it's possible that it's being saved until then.
