Assassin's Creed Mirage announcement trailer has had a number of mysterious moments in it, but probably the biggest surprise was at the end of the trailer when Basim spots a Zombie-like creature after killing a member of Order of the Ancient. Hopefully, the developers provided more information on the trailer finale.

According to narrative director Sarah Beaulieu the Zombie-like character is actually a Djinn, and it is going to play an important role in Basim's evolution from a low-profile thief to a master assassin. Every time that Basim kills a high-profile target, he enters a memory corridor similar to older Assassin's Creed games, and the Djinn is going to be present in every memory corridor.

Beaulieu says it has its secrets and meanings and players will discover the mystery behind the creature as they progress through the game.

Based on Islamic sources, a Djinns don't live with humans, and they don't show themselves to humans either unless in certain conditions.

Honestly, this is going to be interesting to see how Ubisoft uses the Islamic roots of Baghdad to add more value to the game's story, and referring to a Djinn somehow proves that the development team has tried to carefully study the Islamic culture.

In the other earlier parts of the trailer breakdown the developers revealed some new information about the game, including the fact that Basim masters the art of combat over time and learns more new skills as you progress through the game.

Also, the developers revealed that the logo of Mirage refers the Arabic word "المخفی" which means Hidden One. We will see more Arabic-centered design in the game's UI, especially in the skill tree of the game.

According to the development team, they have tried to put many reference to older Assassin's Creed games in Mirage, but in the meantime, the story will be fully accessible to the newcomers of the franchise as well.
