Nintendo announced during today's Nintendo Direct stream that Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed game, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is getting released on Switch as well.

There's a catch though, it's cloud-based, and the announcement was only made on the Japanese version of the Nintendo Direct, meaning Assassin's Creed Odyssey Cloud Version is a Japan exclusive.

With some workarounds, it might be possible to connect to the cloud and play it outside Japan, but similar to Phantasy Star Online 2: Cloud, you'll definitely be hit by massive lag. There's a very high chance the game will be unplayable unless you live in Japan.

You can check the announcement trailer for this cloud version of the game below.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey releases worldwide for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 5th, and on Nintendo Switch exclusively in Japan, on October 5th as well. The game's season pass will also include a remastered version of Assassin's Creed III.
